Frequently asked questions
How do I add my shares?
Open My holdings from Settings, tap Add stocks, search for the company, and tap the plus sign. Then tap the share count to type the exact number, or use the minus and plus buttons to adjust one at a time. Dollar payouts appear as soon as shares are set, because every amount is your shares times the per-share dividend.
Where does the dividend data come from?
Per-share amounts and dates come from public company filings (the SEC's EDGAR database) and market data providers (Financial Modeling Prep and BusinessQuant). Companies can change their dates, so treat the calendar as a guide, not a guarantee. When you are offline, the app shows built-in data labeled Offline data.
How do payday reminders work?
Reminders are a DivCal Pro feature. Turn them on during onboarding or in Settings, and your iPhone will notify you before each payday. They only fire for stocks where you have entered shares, because the reminder includes your dollar amount. Notifications are scheduled on your phone; nothing is sent to a server.
How do I cancel DivCal Pro?
Open iPhone Settings, tap your Apple ID, tap Subscriptions, choose DivCal Pro, and tap Cancel. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription, and we cannot cancel it for you because Apple handles all billing.
I paid for Pro but the features are still locked. What do I do?
Open Settings in DivCal and tap Restore purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe. If Pro still does not unlock, email open@nshipyard.com with the email address on your Apple receipt and we will sort it out.
How do I restore Pro on a new phone?
Install DivCal, sign in with the same Apple ID, open Settings, and tap Restore purchases.
Which stocks can I track?
The free tier covers 500+ US stocks and ETFs. DivCal Pro adds non-US tickers: ASML, TSMC, and 15 Canadian dividend payers including Royal Bank, TD, Enbridge, and BCE.
Is this financial advice?
No. DivCal shows dividend dates and amounts for informational purposes only. We are not a registered investment advisor, so talk to a qualified professional before making investment decisions.
How do I remove a stock?
In My holdings, tap the x next to a stock, or untick it in Add stocks. If you add the stock again later, your previous share count is still there.
Does DivCal work offline?
Yes. The calendar renders from built-in data when you have no connection, labeled Offline data. Live data refreshes automatically when you are back online.
